Following the film there will be a live video chat with Countess Amanda Fielding and director Oliver Hockenhull. NYC Filmmaker and performance artist John Halpern will be also be participating in the post-screening discussion.

The conversation will be moderated by Doc Kelley from Eugene Lang College and director of Psychedelic Sangha.

I Am My Own Laboratory is an experimental documentary on a remarkable woman. Amanda Feilding, founder of  the Beckley Foundation, a charitable trust that promotes a rational, evidence-based approach to global drug policy policies and initiates, directs and supports pioneering neuroscientific and clinical research into the effects of psychoactive substances on the brain and cognition. Feilding learned about the ancient practice of trepanation from Bart Huges, whom she met in 1966, She trepanned herself in 1970.

Following the film there will be an interdisciplinary round table discussion with Shane Mauss, comedian Matt Ruby, psychedelic researcher Jenn Purdon, comedy booker and New School alumnus Luisa Díez, psychedelic science writer and New School graduate student Kevin Franciotti, and the organizer of the Brooklyn Psychedelic Society Colin Pugh.

The discussion will be moderated by Doc Kelley from Eugene Lang College and director of Psychedelic Sangha.

Comedian Shane Mauss goes on a series of adventures to deepen his understanding of psychedelics. He describes the indescribable and takes us through some of his most intense experiences, while getting the added perspectives of some of the top scientists and experts in this realm. With moments of both confusion and clarity, this is an honest account of the experiences of a genuine Psychonaut.
